Why Letters?

Living through a global pandemic has reminded many of us of the important role that human connection plays in our lives, and the creative ways that we’ve managed to forge and foster relationships without being able to interact in person. Many of those ways were achieved through the power of technology, for which we should be thankful. But what if we also revived the dying art of letter writing? Think of the lives that could potentially be impacted if all of us mailed just three personalized letters within the next year.

The lure of community and catharsis can be strong, but another compelling reason to write to people is not only social, but scientific: research has shown that writing letters can help with stress, anxiety, and even PTSD. Moreover, this action carries the added benefit of helping to support the invaluable postal service.
